Yes, I've been able to create models I've printed via FreeCAD - but I've typically designed that model 3-4 times from scratch in FreeCAD fixing issues, mine or just recovering from a crash. I would LOVE to have something like FreeCAD but I have to ask: Does it work for others? To do something REAL other than testing out a feature? This has been constant since around 0.16 which I _think_ was the version I first started with. It requires a bit more math but otherwise "it just works". So I still trust OpenSCAD to do most of my modelling.

And I mean really fails with full program crashes, drawing the "surface" geometries in wild crazy fits, making FreeCAD stop responding for seconds while it calculates how to fill out the whole screen with junk. No-matter what I try, it fails once a few things have been done.
For me, the surface/filling just doesn't work, and it's hinted at in the video that if the sequence of putting in geometries doesn't work, try a different sequence - ie. It's an excellent example of this - try change the initial width of the "ship" once you are a few steps in and tell me how it works for you. I'm at the point where edits aren't possible - unless it works exactly as setup the first time, it fails. you need to add 5mm to width of a box you're making for a project, and presto everything you created stops working. the FUSION 360 is Windows only and me being a Linux zealot that's not an option. OpenSCAD was my go-to, I had a short fling with Blender but it didn't really like parameterized models - FreeCAD advertised all the things and then some that I think a hobbyist like me need.
